Community-Based Research

This guide highlights research and data related to social issues in the greater Charlotte-Mecklenburg area

Welcome!

Welcome to the Community-Based Research guide. This guide is a starting point for community-based research in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. We hope to grow this guide with links to additional research sources and the addition of relevant publications written by Davidson students, staff, and faculty.

If you are interested in learning more about community-based learning and research initiatives at Davidson, or want to know how to get involved, please contact Stacey Riemer, Associate Dean of Students and Director of Civic Engagement at striemer@davidson.edu.

If you are a faculty member interested in collaborating with the library on initiatives related to your research or on your students' research, please contact the library at askalibrarian@davidson.edu. We are interested in working more with community-based learning courses, and are particularly looking for opportunities to engage students on issues of information access, ethics, privilege, and social justice.
