Planned Parenthood - Manhattan Health Center

Called this location to make an appointment and whoever the employee was that answered the phone had a TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. She kept cutting on and off and her attitude just got worse. Someone needs to teach who ever answered the phone about customer service

VERY unprofessional.
1. In December 2 of my appointments got cancelled, for no reason, didn't contact me why or to offer a new appointment just got a text that it got cancelled.
2. The second time I made the appointment I told them it was really important for me to come because I need my birth control refilled as I was on the last 6-7 pills, they still canceled my appointment.
3. As I was on the phone and had more questions, the lady just shut the phone on me! It didn't break up, she sounded annoyed that I have questions and was clear to me she hung up and of course no call back..

Overall very disappointed, as I have been going to planned parenthood for years and I'm really upset how they treated me in an emergency and on the phone.

I leave this review here because this was the location I called every single time.

Everyone is welcome here and the staff go *out of their way* to make you feel safe and cared for!!
The social workers are amazing and they will help you with anything you need and they will just listen to you if that's all you need!

They took me as a walk in and while I waited for an hour, it was worth it (I left and came back instead of sitting there). They offer a variety of services and woman care. I needed to get my Pap smear done and a pregnancy test, my entire visit lasted from 1:30-3pm, which isn't too bad considering I waited longer in urgent care. My provider was NP Chelsey, she was informative and had a great bedside manner. They offer birth control refills and education. I noticed they are very open minded and one of the first questions they ask were about your pronouns. I would come back here for any woman's health services I need in the future. Also, if you have financial difficulties they will work with you to figure it out.

I was recommended to PPNY by a friend who like me is a chicken when it comes to doctors. Unfortunately us ladies sometimes we have to to make sure everything is working as it should especially every five years the older we get. Ayecarambah I'm gonna be forever young but, I digress.

The staff at PPNY is the most wonderful team I've come into contact with for a while. From beginning to end.
I'll try to thank them here from memory, I really hope I don't forget anyone;

TERRENCE: at security was thorough, professional and very courteous.

I was then sent to check in where I was checked in as though I was at a five star hotel. The receptionists are such beautiful souls. Including the guy that took the time to escort me to the toilet. I didn't get his name.

My next interaction was with JESSIE and to be honest (excuse my old lady emotions) but her kindness almost brought me to tears.

NATALIE then took my vitals and medical history and as a fellow Caribbean sister I was more than comfortable sharing EVERYTHING with her. Hehehe. Get this, Natalie tried to send me to a particular doctor because she felt "our personalities would match". I inquired more. She explained that all the doctors at PPNY did their work extremely well but sometimes, she likes to send folks to doctors they'd vibe even more with, helping them to be more comfortable. Isn't that wonderful and thoughtful!! Wow.

I then met Dr. CHELSEA and I kid you not, is she even old enough to be out of middle school? The young, pretty hip doctor (she's a midwife but still Dr. Chelsea to me) shared a wealth of information and her knowledge with me even beyond her call of duty.  At no time did I feel rushed like has happened at other doctor's office and I was with her for such an amount of time that I ran out of things to discuss with her. That's a first for me. Haha.

A mature Russian lady on the third floor took my blood and I'm still waiting to feel that prick she spoke of. She was so gentle.

I suggest you make an appointment before coming here. I met patients in the first waiting room on my arrival and left them still there after being thoroughly seen to about an hour later. The office can get swamped.

Annnnd, would someone tell the women with placards at the front of the building to go find a worthy cause to protest. Like how about tying themselves to a tree in the Amazon? It's burning? Okay.  Not everyone who goes there is about termination. And if it were so, how dare you try to police other women's bodies! 

I took dozens of condoms from the assortment in each room I entered.
Who knows, one day I may totally get to try the banana flavoured one! Yeah! Dream big I say! Dream big.

The staff here didn't choose their professions, they were specially chosen by God.
The kindness, compassion, professionalism and care I received at this health facility goes way above and beyond. They are indeed topnotch. I'm so thankful I listened and chose this place.

Exceptional service! I came here to get my Nexplanon removed after Parkmed NYC told me it was too deep. At Planned Parenthood, I met with Chelsea and Alex and they were so kind and got my implant out right away. They congratulated me on my pregnancy plans and made me feel comfortable. I walked out with a smile and a bag of free pregnancy tests. Great job, guys!

Absolutely amazing care at this Planned Parenthood location. From the front desk staff, to the nurses, and doctors, everyone was so helpful, kind, and gentle. They made me feel very comfortable and ensured I had all the information I needed. In the past, some doctors have left me feeling disappointed and uncared for, but I left my appointment feeling very supported and safe.
I had an early morning appointment, and they saw me right on time. Check in, pre-screening, and the appointment all took less than 1 hour for a typical birth control consultation.

I tried finding an OB-GYN, and the reviews for local clinics were terrible and I thought I would try Planned Parenthood. This was my first time using their services, and I highly recommend them if you're looking for healthcare.

The most caring and non judgmental staff ever. They made me feel comfortable from start to finish and never left me confused. I was expecting to spend all day in the office but it was shorter than expected.

I normally hate getting my blood drawn. But Jazel was amazing. Fast easy and pain free honestly!!! Hands down the best phlebotomist out there. Coming from someone who used to sit in their mom's lap until I was 17 trying to get my blood drawn.

They work with all kinds of insurance and won't turn you back if there is an issue you have options and the staff is professional and super friendly and helpful when answering any questions you may have
