The 10th annual United Way Shoebox Project is under way and is seeking to provide over 8,000 boxes of hygiene items and daily necessities to members of our community who are in need, including men, women and children. Volunteers are needed to help sort shoebox items, assist with quality control, decorate shoeboxes, stuff boxes, and prep for agency pick-ups and distribution.
Activity:
- Decorating – wrapping shoeboxes that are not yet decorated
- Sorting and Quality Control – checking to make sure donated contents are safe and appropriate
- Assembly – Filling decorated shoeboxes with hygiene items
- Packing – Pack completed shoeboxes onto pallets to be picked up by non-profit partners on distribution days
Donations:
Donations of hygiene supplies are also being accepted between April 2-May 17 and may be dropped off at the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County office (700 S. Alamo St.) or at the San Antonio Food Bank (5200 Historic Old Hwy 90).
