As the first professional body for Health Coaching in the world, the UK Health Coaches Association (UKHCA) was at the leading edge of the development and definition of robust professional standards and Scope of Practice for Health and Wellness Coaches (HWCs) in the UK and Ireland.
Continuing this ground-breaking work to advance the professional development of highly qualified Health Coaches and their careers, the UK & International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA) now provides a focal point for the continued development of professional Health Coaching in the UK and Internationally.
The UKIHCA does this by offering a rigorous and robust standards and programme approval process to all education and training programmes offered by Health Coaching education and training schools and programme providers against our very high standard of peer reviewed criteria.
These Standards are designed to set the minimum criteria that schools are required to meet to gain UKIHCA approval, based upon national educational levels, teaching credentials and the high level of training in interpersonal coaching skills that are expected of a professional Health Coach.
In addition, these Standards have been set to ensure that schools have the capacity to respond appropriately to the ever-changing nature of Health Coaching.
