Duties/Responsibilities | (1) Data analysis and manuscript preparation: Several lab projects have finished data collection. The postdoctoral associate will organize data files, conduct quality assurance checks, and prepare data for analysis. In partnership with the study PI, he/she will conduct analyses and prepare manuscripts and presentations to disseminate findings. |

Duties/Responsibilities | (2) Ensure projects are implemented in alignment with proposal and IRB approved protocols: Develop study manuals, modify protocols as needed to improve capacity for meeting aims of proposal, and problem-solve as issues arise; establish study timeline and supervise research assistants in accordance with data collection goals; meet regularly with project investigators to provide updates on data collection. |

Position Summary | This position will organize and manage research tasks across several large-scale research studies focused on social determinants of health. The lab currently has several studies that are ongoing, including: (1) Annual studies focused on how stressful life experiences influence response to influenza vaccination; (2) an ongoing longitudinal study of African American families in rural Georgia; and (3) a new study of risk and resilience among African American families. Tasks will be distributed across the three projects, and day-to-day work will vary based on fluctuations in each study’s current needs. This person in this position will supervise the work of Research Assistants and coordinate with staff at the Clinical and Translational Research Unit at UGA to facilitate data collection. The postdoctoral associate is responsible for conducting data quality checks and addressing missing data before preparing data for analyses. The associate will assist with preparation of (1) all IRB materials throughout the duration of the project, (2) project updates as requested by the Principal Investigator, (3) annual progress reports for submission to the federal sponsor and private foundations. The associate will analyze data and collaborate with their faculty mentor to prepare manuscripts for scientific review and publication. |
