U-lex @ OTHELLO SQUARE
Built on the traditional land of the Coast Salish people, ʔúləx̌ (U-lex) is the name for the 68-unit affordable residential development project at Othello Square. ʔúləx̌ pronounced “oh-lew” is the Southern Lushootseed word for gather and acknowledges the history of the Coast Salish and the land they stewarded. It represents a welcoming and gathering place for the diverse and multi-cultural people in the Othello neighborhood, Central and Southeast Seattle, to come together in a safe environment and own a share of the residential cooperative with access to Othello Square’s many opportunities that offer a sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
