TWF Causes was established by Kimbra and Mark Walter to make meaningful change in the causes of social equity and conservation. Rooted in their core values of equity, opportunity and sustainability, TWF causes founds and supports organizations that make a difference.

Our Mission:

Promote equity by countering systemic obstacles that block opportunity for marginalized people.

Save rare species and wild places.

Our Model:

Build sustainable models of philanthropy that create permanent capital from direct ownership of stakes in businesses or business operations and that fund the causes reducing the need for continuous philanthropic investment.

TWF Social Impact cultivates outcomes for vulnerable communities by creating life-altering opportunities for young people to build a career, equity and wealth. The initiatives are diverse in execution but have as their common goal creating equitable spaces where an individual’s zip code, skin color or financial background does not determine their fate.

TWF Social Impact funds three programs, the missions of which are to close the opportunity gap and heal racial divides through education and business preparation: the Academy Group and its subsidiary program, Amplify; Chicago Beyond and OneGoal. Additionally, TWF Social Impact is a major supporter of The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and MetroSquash.

TWF Conservation saves rare species and wild places by protecting identified key animal populations and their habitats around the world. Efforts include creating assurance populations, protecting rare species in their environments, restoring ecosystems and protecting wilderness areas. TWF Conservation supports important places in North America and Africa. The approach is to provide wildlife security and management, to collaborate with local residents and host-country governments and to invest in sustainable enterprises.

With more than one million acres of land worldwide, almost 70 times the size of Manhattan, TWF Conservation protects thousands of rare and native animals including: rhinos, elephants, African lions, cheetahs, primates, okapi, damas gazelle, whooping cranes, Andes condors, grizzly bears, Mexican gray wolves and many more. We have reintroduction programs that focus on bongo, condor and rare birds with more planned.
