Folk singer-songwriter Avi Kaplan releases his new album "Floating On A Dream" May 20 via Fantasy Records.

Nashville folk singer Avi Kaplan goes "On My Way" in a ruminative new song debuting Friday via the Tennessean.

The new tune finds Kaplan wresting with time away from family in a powerful confession driven by his warm, deep-voiced delivery. "On My Way" marks the latest song released off Kaplan's forthcoming LP, "Floating On A Dream," a Shooter Jennings-produced project out May 20 via Fantasy Records.

The former Pentatonix member-turned-folk singer wrote "On My Way" after a day on the road where missing home hit particularly hard, he said.

In one verse, he sings, "Papa, I do prey you're well/ That a worried thought neve comes around/ I got your blood and I got your name/ If I got your will, I should be OK. Hey, hey, I'm on my way." Listen to the song in full below.

Kaplan said in a statement: "Oftentimes when I’m feeling something intensely I’ll grab my guitar and see what comes out. This song flowed out of me quicker than most. Each verse is a letter to my family. My mother, father, sister and brother. This song is very dear to my heart and I’m so happy to be able to share it with the world.”

Kaplan celebrates "Floating On A Dream" in Nashville with a show at 3rd & Lindsley on May 21, part of an international spring tour. Find more information at avikaplanofficial.com
