Central New York, Mohawk Valley enter $1 billion US competition for economic development

Washington – Central New York and the Mohawk Valley have teamed up to enter a federal competition for up to $175 million in seed money to help the region develop into a global technology hub.

The U.S. Commerce Department plans to select up to 30 regions across the nation to share $1 billion from the American Rescue Plan aimed at speeding economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
