The workshop is intended to assist research teams as they prepare proposals in response to NSF's Solicitation for proposals to the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Minority-Serving Institutions Research Expansion Program (CISE-MSI Program).

* 6. Eligibility Requirements: Please note that the eligibility requirements for the CISE-MSI solicitation are:

A. Principal Investigators must be faculty at a Minority Serving Institution (MSI).

B. Institutions can’t have received a NSF CISE core award in the past 5 years.

C. Participation of non-MSI institutions needs to be clearly justified in how their participation will help build research capacity at MSIs.

D. Individuals can participate in no more than 2 proposals.

E. Thread three projects require the inclusion of under-served (women, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, and others) undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Proposal Development Workshop participants are expected to complete a pre-workshop assignment consisting of using the NSF Awards Database to identify three projects that are similar to their proposed project and being ready to discuss similarities and differences between the funded projects from the database and the participant's proposed project.
