Yes, Jen Psaki: Abortions Up to Birth Do Happen & You Support Them

Former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki found herself in a virtual, fact-checking firestorm after she had the audacity to post blatant misinformation during the first Republican presidential debate. In response to candidates’ comments on the extremism of the abortion lobby and the Biden Administration, Psaki posted a statement online, saying, “No one supports abortion up until birth” — and then (rightfully so) she got absolutely blasted for the baloney.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins poignantly replied, “Really? Name one exception to abortion legalization that Democrats support. I’ll wait.”

Townhall web editor Rebecca Downs shot out, “AYFKM? You worked for the man who does!”

United States Representative for Illinois Mary Miller put another nail in the coffin by writing, “210 Democrats voted to allow babies to be aborted AFTER birth, which is infanticide: https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/202329.”

And we can’t forget about the Women’s Health Protection Act (which SFLA dubbed the Women’s Health Endangerment Act) that would have radically expanded abortion access nationwide through all nine months of pregnancy — yes, up to the moment of birth. Before it failed, it was the abortion lobby’s baby (too bad they treated it better than our preborn babies).

An article at The National Review, entitled “Yes, There Is Such a Thing as Elective Late-Term Abortion,” also made it clear the abortion lobby is blowing smoke. Author Alexandra DeSanctis wrote:

“Abortion-rights supporters often like to claim that abortions after 20 weeks’ gestation are rare. According to estimates from the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute, about 1.3 percent of annual abortions in the U.S. occur after 20 weeks, which does sound rare — until you consider that the Guttmacher also estimates about 926,000 annual abortions, meaning that about 12,000 take place after viability. As Ramesh Ponnuru often points out, that means there are more post-viability abortions each year than gun homicides, according to the most recent FBI estimates.”

However wrong Psaki is, however, she is sadly not alone in her false narrative.

The Huffington Post spouted this lie in a piece ironically entitled “The First Republican Presidential Debate Was Rife With Abortion Misinformation.” Planned Parenthood also went on a social media rant, writing: ““Late-term abortion” is a completely made-up phrase that has no basis in medicine. It’s pure anti-abortion propaganda, intended to confuse people about when abortion happens.” And we’ve seen this same lie paraded around by CNN news anchors time and again.

Clearly, this is more than just an isolated incident — instead, it’s a full-blown campaign by the abortion lobby to hide their true extremism from the American people. And can you blame them when the polls show just how out of touch they are?

2023 YouGov-Vinea poll put out by Students for Life of America’a Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement found that nearly 70% of Millennials and Gen Z believe laws should limit abortion, with strong support for limits at conception or when a fetal heartbeat is detected. With the abortion lobby’s misinformation machine known as the mainstream media drawing the wool over many Americans’ eyes, the Pro-Life Generation’s mission is clear. This is our silver bullet: education. We must unveil the abortion lobby and pro-abortion politicians to the public for who they truly are and for what they stand.

No more letting them hide and seem reasonable; it’s time to expose their extremism.
