FIRST Students for Life Action Inspired Legislation Introduced by U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT)

U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) and U.S. Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) just introduced the FIRST federal bill inspired by Students for Life Action!

The Protecting Life on College Campus Act of 2021 would prohibit federal funds from being directed to institutions of higher education that offer abortion procedures and Chemical Abortion Pills to students and faculty.

Turning American colleges and universities into abortion vendors serves no educational purpose. In fact, abortion puts women’s lives at risk and creates increased liabilities for schools.

Turning American colleges and universities into abortion vendors serves no educational purpose. In fact, abortion puts women’s lives at risk and creates increased liabilities for schools.

Students for Life of America (SFLA), the sister organization of Students for Life Action, has been at the forefront of this issue for the last several years, helping defeat California Senate Bill 320 in 2018. Unfortunately, Governor Gavin Newsom signed similar legislation into law in 2019. Now, other states are considering legislation to force publicly funded schools to dispense dangerous Chemical Abortion Pills, essentially making student health centers abortion vendors and dormitories abortion clinics.

That’s why we are urging federal legislators to support and co-sponsor the Protecting Life on College Campus Act of 2021 to protect vulnerable college women and innocent preborn babies from the violence of abortion.

More than 20 women, that we know of, have died after taking the Chemical Abortion Pills. Additionally, 7% of women who take the Chemical Abortion pills require surgery because the pills failed. If not treated, the decaying tissue from the baby will fester in the woman’s womb, leading to infection and death. If students require emergency medical assistance during or after the abortion, including surgical intervention, student health centers are not prepared to provide such care.

There is no legitimate reason for college and university campuses to provide abortions, especially at the expense of fellow students and taxpayers.

Please join us in urging your U.S. Senators and U.S. Representative to co-sponsor the Protecting Life on College Campus Act of 2021.
