STUDENTS FOR LIFE TEAM MEMBER PUNCHED AT SUPREME COURT!

Students for Life Action staff member PUNCHED in front of the Supreme Court While PEACEFULLY Advocating for a Supreme Court Pick Who Would Protect Life in Law

Outside of the Supreme Court, a Young Woman and Pro-Life Advocate, was attacked while talking about her support for Judge Amy Coney Barrett

WASHINGTON D.C. (09-27-2020) – A Students for Life Action team member who is part of Students for Life’s “SCOTUS SQUAD” was punched for simply peacefully advocating for the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. Police were called and an arrest was made after a woman approached SFLAction Communications and Market Manager Autumn Schimmer, 23, who was speaking on behalf of ACB. Media in the area, including Breitbart at about marker 1:02, have footage of the attack. Schimmer spoke with police and reported that additional threatening behavior took place in the context of a crowd that included about 5 percent pro-life advocates and 95 percent abortion supporters. Before the attack, Schimmer was holding a sign saying, “I can’t believe these ‘feminists’ are protesting a woman.” (See more on SFLA/SFLAction social media.)

After the attack and arrest, Schimmer said: “I was approached by a pro-choice woman who wanted to have a conversation about what feminism means to me. I told her that women are not empowered when they kill their own children, and we need to do better. After that, she was getting more aggressive. I took a step back to return to my group. She approached me and punched me in the face and ripped off my face mask. This is very upsetting. Being attacked by a pro-choicer just shows that the violence of abortion breeds a culture of violence and normalizes it.”

Students for Life of America/Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins said yesterday: “On the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote found in the 19th Amendment, Judge Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court is a fitting tribute to how far we as women have come, This is the opportunity of a lifetime that will determine millions of lifetimes. It’s go time, Pro-Life Generation: Get ready for a Post-Roe America.”

MEDIA ALERT: In the days ahead, look for us in front of the Supreme Court.
