December "To Do" List
Complete these tasks during December to stay on the right college-planning track.
- December 17th is the last day of the semester and your final opportunity to raise your Grade Point Average (GPA) before graduating. A strong GPA increases your opportunity for scholarships. Study for your finals, turn in missing work, and complete final projects to finish the semester strong!
- If you haven’t already, submit college applications and the FAFSA.
- The FAFSA is a summative grade in your Personal Finance Class!
- Continue to apply for scholarships.
- Follow EducationQuest on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for a chance to win a $500 scholarship.
Hey Seniors!!
68 of you have already completed your FAFSAs. Congratulations! However, that also means many more of you need to do the same so that you don't miss important scholarship and college financial aid deadlines.
The counseling office will be open December 7, January 11, 20, 25 until 6:00 pm and Saturday, January 22 from 9 am to noon to help you with FAFSA, scholarship, and college applications and questions.
Victor Garcia from EducationQuest will be here this Friday, Dec 17 to assist you with FAFSA filing. Use the link below to sign up for a time to meet with him.

College of Saint Mary's, Misericordia Scholarship
The Misericordia Scholarship is provided to undocumented students of diverse backgrounds who are not eligible for federal financial assistance. This significant scholarship allows students to attend College of Saint Mary at a fraction of the cost.

Application Requirements
- Complete a Misericordia Scholarship application form.
- Submit an essay describing what impact you believe the Misericordia Scholarship will have on your life and career.
- Submit a letter of recommendation.
- Complete the Education Quest Foundation’s free College Funding Estimator and submit the results with your application.
- Interview with the College of Saint Mary Misericordia Scholarship Selection Committee.

How does it work?
All students—prospective and current—apply only once per year through one application and will be considered for each eligible scholarship during every period. If a student is not offered a scholarship in a particular period, their application is automatically rolled into the next scholarship period and they will be considered for all eligible scholarships until all scholarship dollars are offered.
Apply early = more scholarship opportunities!

Central Community College Scholarship
Central Community College is pleased to provide you with information about the scholarship programs that we have to offer for the 2022-23 academic year.
As in previous years, the CCC scholarship application is available online. You would need to upload your high school transcript to include the Fall 2021 semester grades. You will be able to see the listing of scholarships upon completing the application.
The Assessment Advantage, Transitions Advantage and Davis Chambers scholarships are applied for through this online application. The application deadline is March 1, 2022.
In order to apply for any CCC scholarships, students must have an application for admission on file. This application is available at: ccc.awardspring.com
Information regarding our summer scholarship program will be sent in the spring from the admissions office.

Tenaska Corporate Scholarships
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
1. Be a 2022 graduating high school senior from an OPS high school.2. Planning to attend a four-year post-secondary education program at an accredited institution.
3. Must maintain a 3.2 GPA to qualify for renewal.
3. Meet criteria for specific Scholarships:
- The Tenaska Empowering Women Scholarship will be awarded to a female pursuing a four-year degree that is related to Tenaska's business initiatives. This could be a degree in finance, business, human resources, public relations, accounting, etc. You must identify as female to apply for this scholarship.
- The Tenaska STEM Scholarship must be pursuing STEM field.
- The Tenaska Diversity Scholarship will be awarded to a minority student pursuing a four year degree that is related to Tenaska's business. This could be a degree in finance, business, human resources, public relations, accounting, etc.
Family members of Tenaska employees are not eligible to receive scholarship funds from this program.
