DID YOU KNOW???
Did you know that Carolina Forest International Elementary (CFIE) students are actively engaged in service-learning and community-based projects? This Spring, CFIES will be partnering with Gleaning for the World, an international non-profit humanitarian aid organization, to collect stuffed animals.
Why stuffed animals? CFIES Student Council members were inspired by artwork provided by The Besharat Arts Foundation Museum and Galley and question stems displayed throughout the school. Questions were raised during a recent student council meeting, “How can we help?” and “What can we do to make them smile?” Students began researching and discussing how natural disasters and wars impact children. All agreed that even in the toughest of times, stuffed animals make children smile and are a source of comfort and support.
Please support CFIES and Student Council members in collecting new and gently loved stuffed animals that will provide hope and a smile to children across the globe.
Our goal is to collect 300 stuffed animals that will then be delivered to Gleaning for the World’s warehouse and shipped domestically and internationally to disaster areas, refugee camps, orphanages, and hospitals.
Art in the Airport!
Congratulations to our CFIE Eagles: Kaleyah, Kendall, Andray, Emma, Collin, and Paityn. Their collaborative artwork, "In Flight" was chosen for the "art in the Airport" show.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
April is the Month of the Military Child, a time when we celebrate the 1.6 million military children who face challenges due to their loved one’s service.
This year you can order a t-shirt to wear on Purple Up Day (April 19, 2024) to show your support.
T-shirts can be purchased at Home | Purple Up! Onslow (lifesspecialtees.com)
Please be sure to put your child’s first and last name and teacher’s name in the order details and select the school your child attends in the delivery section.
You will also need to keep a copy of your receipt. The t-shirt shop closes on February 25th and will NOT reopen for late orders. T-shirts will be delivered to your child’s school the week of April 1st.
Please contact Danielle Merrell at danielle.merrell@onslow.k12.nc.us if you have any questions regarding the t-shirt orders.

The status of our LOST AND FOUND as of Friday 2/16/2024. ☹️
It's best practice to write your child's name on the inside of jackets, lunch boxes, etc., so when items are misplaced, they can be promptly returned to their owner. Please encourage your child to look in the lost and found if they are missing an item. Thank you.
