The Quill 10-15-21
Embrace-Inspire-Empower
A Thought or Two from Mr. Nieslanik
Skyhawks:
We are at the six-week mark of school, hard to believe, but the opening of school has fleeted by at a fast clip. At this point in time, all grades should be accessible and up to date. All teachers have been asked to update grades by today. If an Incomplete (I) or a N/A mark is showing it will mean that not enough evidence has been turned in for a grade at this point in time. If an N mark is showing in Parentvue or Studentvue than it means that no work has been turned in at this point in time. If your child has an Incomplete, N/A, or an N mark is showing I highly encourage you to reach out to the teacher. You can reach all teachers at First Name_Last Name @beaverton.k12.or.us.
This edition of The Quill is coming to you a day earlier than normal this week in order to give parents of seniors one more hint of our Parent Chat this month. Our theme is FAFSA and ORSSA, and this is a perfect time to begin thinking about completing the FAFSA or ORSSA, as this is a requirement in order to receive federal grants or loans and some scholarships. All seniors should have the FAFSA completed as soon as possible!

Days of Understanding
Every year SRHS hosts a week long event titled, "Days of Understanding". This event is focused on building empathy and an understanding that we are a community with diverse experiences. I share with you the videos we shared in the advisory lesson and several pictures of our ribbon tieing activity. At the end of the lesson, every student and staff member signed their name or initialed a gold ribbon to hang on the bannister or stairwells in the building.
