Title 1 Spring Parent Survey!
CFIE GLOBAL 5K!! 🌎
Wednesday, March 13th, from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., our 5th graders will participate in a 5K walk/run culminating event between PE and Global Lab. Students have studied UN Goal #3 Good Health and Well-Being, researched marathons around the world and learned about the healthy aspects of exercise as related to walking/running. They have also learned the distance of a marathon and how long it generally takes to complete. At the conclusion of this event, students who complete the 5K, will receive a medal (donated by: Jacksonville Onslow Sports Commission and Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers), a coupon for a free ice-cream (donated by Freddy's), and the top 3 finishers from each class will get a special treat. Parents are invited to come out and watch but may not participate due to the lack of space and number of students participating. Parents, please ensure your child wears appropriate walking/running shoes on this day.
Mrs. Devia's 1st Grade Class
Today students are presenting the woman who inspires them to be better!
Ms. Feijoo's class discussed how women have been fighting for years for their rights and dreams. We made the project "A woman I admire".
With their parents help they had to make a poster and prepared a presentation about a woman they thought was an inspiration for them and others.
Ms. Feijoo
Some students came dressed up like them as well. They also talked about the artist Frida Kahlo and why she is so important as an artist and an example of perseverance and resilience.
