Our Pledge To Students and Families!
As a Lake View team of educators, we are committed to creating a welcoming school that empowers each student to unlock their unlimited potential!
Happy New Year! It is my hope that you had a wonderful winter break with your families and that your new year is off to a wonderful start!
Re-establish Those Routines! As we re-engage in our daily school schedule, I encourage you to be intentional about re-establishing those routines that are so important for kids. Have a consistent evening routine that includes some reading and an appropriate bedtime. Have a consistent morning routine that allows for plenty of time to get ready and includes a good breakfast. Routines are greatly beneficial to children, conversely, change can be very difficult for many children. Let’s set our kids up for success!
Mid-Year Benchmark Assessments! Throughout the month of January, our students will be participating in a series of mid-year benchmark assessments. Students will show off their growth in reading fluency, the iReady Reading Comprehension Diagnostic, and the iReady Math Diagnostic. The results from these assessments will help inform our instructional plan for each student for the coming months. Students will be using these assessment results to reflect on their learning goals and set new learning goals! Encourage your student to do their best and ask them about their new learning goals!
Every Minute Matters! Each minute of your student’s daily schedule is intentionally planned. When students miss school, it is impactful. I encourage you to make school attendance a priority for your students. Please reach out to us if your student is experiencing barriers to regular attendance and you need support with addressing those.
Cardinal Character Trait of the Month is Integrity! Our character trait of the month for January is integrity! At Lake View, integrity is demonstrated by being honest, following the rules, and doing the right thing when nobody is looking. We will be intentionally teaching and reinforcing integrity throughout the month. Please join us in this effort!
Thanks for your partnership! Let’s make it a great 2023!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS EVERY DAY!
Students need appropriate bedtimes, morning routines, and breakfast. Free breakfast and lunch is provided daily at Washington. If your student complains about not wanting to go to school, reach out to our office staff and we would be happy to work with you and provide support.
Missing only 15 days (about 1.5 days per month) in a school year has been proven to negatively impact the chance that your student can read or do math at grade-level. Consistent attendance is the foundation to success at school and is essential for student achievement and well-being.FREE SCHOOL MEALS!
Lake View Elementary
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the principal at Lake View Elementary School! I have had the privilege of serving as principal for five years at Lake View. I was formerly a teacher and assistant principal in the Auburn School District. I am a Washington State University graduate and die hard Coug! I enjoy being outdoors, camping, and spending time with my wonderful wife and two children! I hope to have the opportunity to learn more about each of you as we progress through your child’s journey at Lake View!
It is my pleasure to serve the students and families of the Lake View community! At Lake View we are committed to creating a welcoming school that empowers each child to unlock their unlimited potential. We are intentional about following through with that commitment each day as reflected in our daily student greetings, our systems for supporting all learners, and our belief that all students are college bound if they choose to be!
To do this work right, it requires all of us! I encourage you to engage in your child’s educational experience, whatever that may look like for you. We are on a path of maximizing long term hope for each student and I look forward to partnering with you along the way.
