- Please keep your child's lunch account up to date so they have enough money on their account to purchase their breakfast/lunch and, if you allow, snacks can be purchased too- OCS Nutrition makes it easy by having a way to make payments online!

Call To The Arts by Military Child Education Coalition Submissions due April 6, 2023 ELIGIBILITY + SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Open to children in grades K-12 • Only original work will be accepted (no copies of artwork, songs or existing video) • All submissions should be titled; if not, MCEC may title the work • Creative writing, poetry, or prose must not exceed 500 words Information about Requirements: The Call for the Arts - Military Child Education Coalition If your student is interested in creating a piece of art and needs time at school to prepare, let your MFLC know, perhaps we can work on it during MIL group. The Call for the Arts - Military Child Education Coalition For 25 years, the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) has diligently confronted the challenges of school transitions, mobility, and the separation military families face. Art allows military children to communicate pride in their parents, celebrate their military-connected lives and acknowledge their grief and worry through self-expression. Since MCEC began the “Call for the Arts” in 2002, thousands of military children — from all over the world, from every service, of all ages — have submitted their interpretations of what it means to be a military child.
The Zero To Three website helps MIL families understand the science of managing family stress, and the impact of stress on developing brains.

Volunteer Opportunities at CFIE/ Be a Field Trip Chaperone!
In order to be a volunteer at CFIE to work directly with students, including being a parent chaperone for field trips, the following process must be followed and approval obtained from District Office after a background check.
First, you must complete the the following form and seek Mrs. Hill's approval and signature-
Onslow County Schools Criminal Background Checks for School Volunteers form
Second, bring the completed and signed Background Checks form and a picture id to one of the fingerprinting sessions below:
