Principal's Message
Greetings Mountain View Community,
Reminder: When picking up your student, please remember to use the front parking lot along Farmington (or the lot by DQ, or Champion's park). We are not allowed to have parents in or around the lot where buses pick up students any time from 3:40-4:10. Thank you for helping to keep all of our students safe.
Annual Parent Survey
Please take a few moments to complete the BSD Annual Parent Survey! Our goal is to ensure that every member of our school community feels welcomed, valued, and informed, so it is important for all parents/guardians to complete the survey.
A link to the 2021 Annual Parent Survey will be sent to all valid parent email addresses via School Messenger on Sunday, May 9. The deadline to participate is Sunday, May 31.

Fake And Fatal
Community Conversation: We'll be hosting a virtual event on Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m. Please join us live on the district’s YouTube channel or Facebook page. We’ll be taking questions via those channels. Our panelists will include representatives from the Washington County Public Health Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Beaverton Police Department in addition to Jen and Jon Epstein.

The Latest on State Testing
Because of the pandemic, the Oregon Department of Education requested a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education that would have allowed school districts to skip state testing this spring. However, the federal government denied that request. Therefore, to maintain our federal funding, the Beaverton School District must offer testing to our students. Parents and guardians have the right to OPT OUT their students from testing. More on that below.
Shortened versions of the following statewide tests will be offered:
3rd Grade: English Language Arts (ELA) & Mathematics
4th Grade: English Language Arts (ELA) & Mathematics
5th Grade: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics & Science
6th Grade: English Language Arts (ELA) & Mathematics
7th Grade: English Language Arts (ELA) & Mathematics
8th Grade: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics & Science
11th Grade: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics & Science
To maximize in-person instruction time for Hybrid students and to provide testing opportunities for Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) and FLEX Online School students, the district will provide testing opportunities on Wednesdays (asynchronous learning days only) in May and June. Students will take the tests at their home schools; FLEX students will take the tests at the District’s Central Administration Center (16550 SW Merlo Rd.). Transportation will be provided for students who live one mile (elementary) or 1.5 miles (secondary) from their home schools; FLEX families must provide their own transportation. (Note: if a school plans to test outside of the Wednesday windows, the school will communicate an alternate schedule directly with families.)
