Donations Needed!
Do you want to help children with life-threatening illnesses and their families? Consider helping Mrs. Ketchum’s Kindergarten class collect pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, NC. When you drink a canned aluminum drink, pull off the tab before putting the can in the recycling bin and bring them into school!!
Mrs. Reinke will be starting a Gardening Club for 5th Graders as part of their club enrichment. The garden will benefit all of our students as they observe the plants growing as part of their curriculum. If you would like to donate Home Depot or Lowe’s Gift Cards, a bag of good soil for growing veggies/fruit/flowers or gardening gloves for students, we would be grateful for any donation to help our garden grow!
Wax Museums Help Students Connect with Biographies!

Month of the Military Child is Approaching!
April is the Month of the Military Child. Be sure to look here to find out the way we will be celebrating! By the way, CONGRATULATIONS to CFIE for once again being a recipient of the Purple Star Award! These events, information and support we provide our military families are why we are honored each year with this distinguished award!
One project we are currently working on for the Month of the Military Child is having our military family members record a brief message for their military child. A flyer was sent home today, but here is an active link to begin recording - https://flip.com/motmc
See the picture insert on how to do this! Help us make your military child/children's day by seeing a message from you on our main hall
Please send a copy (not an original) of a photograph featuring your CFIE student that includes your military family member (active duty and/or veteran) so it can be posted on the school Appreciation Board through April, Month of the Military Child.

The Call for the Arts - Military Child Education Coalition
For 25 years, the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) has diligently confronted the challenges of school transitions, mobility, and the separation military families face. Art allows military children to communicate pride in their parents, celebrate their military-connected lives and acknowledge their grief and worry through self-expression. Since MCEC began the “Call for the Arts” in 2002, thousands of military children — from all over the world, from every service, of all ages — have submitted their interpretations of what it means to be a military child.
The Comfort Crew
The Comfort Crew was created to make sure that military families and their kids have the best resources available to help them through the tough situations of deployment, reintegration, reintegrating with an injury, losing a parent in war, and other unique challenges that the community faces. Scan the QR code below to order one for your child and have it shipped directly to your house!
