Cedar Park Forecasting 21-22
Welcome to Cedar Park!
In addition, due to the boundary changes, about half of our 7th and 8th graders will be new to Cedar Park. We are pleased to welcome the Rachel Carson Option Program to Cedar Park next year!
What will be the same?
Cedar Park will remain an MYP (Middle Years Programme) school. At Cedar Park, we will continue to aspire to the IB Learner Traits. "The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning.
The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers" (from the ibo.org website)

(Optional) Parent Input
There are many factors that are considered when placing students in classrooms. Classrooms are balanced by gender, second language needs, special education needs, talented and gifted needs, as well as behavioral needs. Careful consideration is given to classroom placement; much care and time is put into this process. Your input is welcome in this process before placements are made. Once placements occur, classroom/team changes are not made. Your perspective provides an additional lens to help us understand the unique needs of your child.
Please share any additional special concerns you would like us to consider as we build your child’s schedule for next year(requests to be with friends are not considered special concerns, nor are requests for specific teachers) by emailing Megan Clifford, Assistant Principal, and megan_clifford@beaverton.k12.or.us.

Need help with translation?
DEAR BSD FAMILIES,
We understand that it can be challenging to access current information regarding your child’s schooling in your own language. We do our best to send out messages about important updates, especially during these challenging times. However, you can access the BSD website — and specifically, our return-to-school page — at any time. Below, we’ve included a link that will take you to our website, where you’ll find it already translated into your language. Please know, the translation is generated by Google Translate. It’s not perfect, but we do hope it’s helpful.
If you need additional assistance, please contact our Multilingual Department at 503-356-3755.
