Classroom Counseling Topics
Wow, it's been action packed during classroom counseling! Our kinder friends learned about respect and how to be a good friend. Second grade participated in "DOT Day" by learning about teamwork and how we communicate and collaborate with one another. They had a group STEAM Team Challenge where they had to create a 3-D structure using notecards and sticker dots. Check out the picture below! The other fantastic grades at OPES learned about what to do if they have a worry by reading Wilma Jean and the Worry Machine. Many times at the beginning of the school year our kiddos worry with the "What if..." statements. We discussed worries that we can and can't control. In class we have also learned about what it means to be a good friend and how we can show kindness to others. To finish out October we will be discussing making healthy choices for our body. Healthy habits are the key to being the best we can be! We cannot wait to see all our kiddos participate in Red Ribbon Week!
October Is Anti-Bully Month
OPES is a No Place For Hate School. We encourage our students to treat others with kindness and respect. We have been learning about inclusion and kindness. During classroom counseling all grade levels have been signing our No Place For Hate Banner. We will display our pledge in the school for all to see.
