STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD has arrested a 13-year-old female in connection to an incident that caused havoc and was caught on video at Susan E. Wagner High School on Friday, Oct. 22.

The teen has been charged by police with assault on school grounds, assault in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, and menacing in the third degree, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

According to an FDNY spokesperson, emergency personnel was dispatched to the location of 1200 Manor Road, where they transported two individuals to Staten Island University Hospital North.

The FDNY responded to reports of a stabbing, however, that was determined by police officials to be unfounded.

The conditions of the individuals were unknown, the spokesperson stated.

The incident unfolded after a dispute between two students erupted. School safety agents removed a knife from one of the students, a source with knowledge of the incident told the Staten Island Advance/SILive.come.

Police originally said the student was 14 years old, but the updated information provided by police states that the student arrested was 13 years old.

A one-minute video shared on social media shows the chaotic scene unfolding as a school safety agent and an adult, presumably a teacher, try to separate kids before the camera focuses on what appears to be a pool of blood.

A crowd of about 25 to 30 kids is pictured crowded in the hallway, watching the ordeal, with some running away from the altercation or falling down at various points.

Two kids appear to be wrestling with the school safety agent.

The agent struggles to restrain one of the students, who breaks away, and the agent falls to the floor as she tries to grab hold of the fleeing student.

The student appears to then re-engage in the conflict, as a group of about a half dozen students can be seen involved in the fight, with others gathered around, adding to the sense of chaos.

In the din, as students shout amidst a host of shoving, at least one voice can be heard pleading with students involved to “stop,” and another shouts “she’s got a knife!”

As an adult male desperately tries to gain control of the situation, a student can be seen swinging what appears to be the knife, while an item that resembles a school book is thrown in the direction of the adult.

Any blood seen at the school was from a nosebleed suffered by a 14-year-old student during the scuffle, according to a source.

“Violence of any kind has no place in our schools and school safety agents and school staff immediately worked to deescalate this situation and ensured no students were injured,” according to a statement from the Department of Education (DOE). “We are working with NYPD regarding follow-up actions and appropriate consequences will be addressed.”
