Staten Island supermarket assault: Cops seek public’s help in alleged incident, release photos

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual sought in connection with an alleged assault at a Port Richmond supermarket.

Photos of the individual sought for questioning in the incident were posted on the 121st Precinct Twitter feed.

A spokesperson for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said police received a report that a 46-year-old female was allegedly assaulted inside of 1351 Forest Ave. on Sunday, Nov. 27, at approximately 8:20 a.m.

The victim was struck in the face multiple times causing bruising and swelling, the spokesperson said.

A Stop & Shop supermarket is located at 1351 Forest Ave.; police confirmed the report came from inside that location.

The images posted on Twitter show an individual dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and black jacket, wearing jeans and a dark hat.

Further information about the motive for the alleged assault was not available from police, and a manager at the Stop & Shop did not provide comment about the incident.
