It didn't make the air, but Franki Moscato's "American Idol" journey came to an end during Hollywood week.

The 17-year-old from Oshkosh had auditioned for the long-running reality singing competition in Idaho in October and advanced to cast of 175 performers who moved on to Los Angeles.

The whittling down of that group in L.A. was the focus of Sunday night's episode. Franki was among several artists whose performance and elimination were not shown during the episode.

The contestants gathered at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles and performed solos in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. The singers were divided into lines of 10 and, after doing their thing, either advanced to the group segment that followed or were eliminated. Franki was among those cut by the judges.

Franki's become a familiar face to many people in Oshkosh, having regularly performed during the Oshkosh Saturday Farmers Market. She's also become an advocate for anti-bullying, suicide prevention and teen mental health programs.

The 17th season of "American Idol," which began March 3, continues Monday night with the second of two Hollywood week episodes. It airs at 7 p.m. on ABC.
