The details

WHO MAY APPLY FOR CAMP:

Our organization does not discriminate on the basis of identity or expression. We ask that campers who join us identify as girls+ (girls, femmes, trans, gender-expansive, gender-non-confirming.) Youth between the ages of 4 and 18 (entering high school Senior Fall 2024) during the camp sessions may apply for camp. No experience is necessary, and you don’t have to live in Omaha to join us! In order to track effectiveness of our recruiting efforts and to ensure we consider the needs of all of our campers, we do ask identifying questions but they in no way effect the allowance of participation.

WHEN & WHERE:

All of our summer camps take place in June and July. Weeks vary each year. We will have 4 sessions of camp, please make sure you are selecting the appropriate session for the age of your camper! Headliner, Amplify, and Boost will take place at The Holland Center For Performing Arts located at 1200 Douglas St, Omaha, NE 68102. Kickstart will be at St. Paul UMC located at 5410 Corby St, Omaha, NE 68104.

CAMP ORIENTATION:

We know how important it is for you, and our youth, to feel comfortable and confident about their week at Camp. We will have a Camp Orientation/Open House on June 2nd from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and welcome you to meet OGR staff, pick-up your camp t-shirt, complete a craft or two and take a tour of the Holland. Camp Orientation is located at The Holland Center For Performing Arts located at 1200 Douglas St, Omaha, NE 68102. Camp Orientation/Open House (Kickstart only) will be on June 5th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul UMC located at 5410 Corby St, Omaha, NE 68104.

INSTRUMENT SELECTION:

Campers in Boost, Amplify, and Headliner Camps focus on one instrument to study for the week. Campers are assigned to instruments based on availability and their requests. Please rank instruments according to your preference when applying. We do our very best to honor (and support) the choices youth make!

Applicants for Kickstart Camp will not need to select an instrument option.

CAMP Cancellations/Refunds:

Delivering the OGR camp experience requires our organization to incur numerous irreversible spending decisions months before the summer begins. We make these irreversible spending decisions based on the number of campers enrolled and we rely on each camper maintaining (i.e., not canceling) enrollment. More importantly to our community, holding a space for a camper may result in turning away other campers. For these reasons, caregivers acknowledge and agree to the following refund policy of OGR Camps:

  1. If a cancellation occurs on or after May 1, 2024 for Headliner or Amplify, no refund will be given.

If a cancellation occurs on or after June 1, 2024 for Boost or Kickstart, no refund will be given.

  2. If you must cancel, prior to April 30, 2024 (Headliner or Amplify) or May 31, 2024 (Boost or Kickstart), OGR will attempt to fill your space from our waitlist:

If the spot is filled, a service fee of $100 will be deducted from the tuition paid.

If the spot is unable to be filled, you will receive 50% tuition refund.

  3. As set forth above, if a camper is removed from camp for a disciplinary reason, no refund will be given.

Please review the dates and times of camp prior to enrollment. If you need to cancel, please notify us in writing as soon as possible at info@omahagirlsrock.com. Finally, we are whole-humans and so are you. Should you be facing an emergency situation regarding camp, please communicate with us via info@omahagirlsrock.com.
