Customers line up overnight as recreational weed sales in N.J. begin

Legal weed sales kicked off just as the sun rose over New Jersey on Thursday, launching what is expected to be a multi-billion industry as political leaders vow to help those hurt most by the failed War on Drugs.

Crowds of customers lined up before 6 a.m. in Bloomfield and Paterson to be among the very first to buy legal weed in New Jersey — and in one case, a customer had been waiting since midnight.
