Giuliani’s pitch to upend electoral process isn’t convincing Michigan legislative Republicans

Despite Rudy Giuliani’s efforts Wednesday evening, his last-ditch pitch to convince Michigan lawmakers to interfere with the election process in support a candidate who didn’t win the state’s popular vote is falling flat.

Ahead of Giuliani’s comments to the House Oversight Committee, where he asked lawmakers to “take back their power” and reject election results formally certified by Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers last month, Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, R-Clarklake, said the legislature would adhere to the state’s electoral process codified in state law.
