Authorities are investigating the second shooting homicide in a week after finding a Macungie man fatally wounded on an Allentown street early Saturday.

Ruben Morales, 30, was found around 2:40 a.m. on the first block of Race Street, where police had responded to a report of a shooting.

Morales was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m. of gunshot wounds, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said. His death was ruled a homicide. An autopsy will be conducted Monday.

The investigation is being conducted by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and the coroner’s office, police said in a news release.

Anyone with information can call the Allentown Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 610-437-7721. Callers may remain anonymous.

On Monday, a 27-year-old Bethlehem man, Hansan Gordon, was fatally shot on the city’s east side. That death remains under investigation.
