Across U.K., People Are Moving the Most in Birmingham

Despite the spread of Covid-19, 130,000 homeowners across England and Wales have sold their homes and moved so far in 2020. The nation’s mover hotspots are Birmingham, Leeds and Cornwall, according to home setup service Just Move. In Birmingham, 1,967 people have sold, 1,889 have done so in Leeds and 1,483 in Cornwall. Housing Market in Europe Shows Signs of Life

There are signs that Europe’s sharp real estate downturn may be coming to an end. In May, Eurozone mortgage lending rebounded after significant falls in March and April. And though Eurozone banks reported a sharp decline in demand for mortgages in the second quarter of 2020, according to the latest survey by the European Central Bank, most expect mortgage demand to recover during Q3. While reports show house prices falling, estate agents and central bankers say transaction volumes have begun bouncing back. Financial Times

Median Prices and Sales Rise in Florida’s Palm Beach County

In June, Florida's Palm Beach County saw median prices rise year-over-year as home sales continued to trend upward, according to the MIAMI Association of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service. New pending home sales in June—a future indicator of sales—increased 31% year-over-year for single-family homes and 14.2% for condos. Home sales, however, are taking longer. Time to contract for single-family homes increased 12% annually in June, as shelter-in-place orders delayed home inspections, appraisals and walk-throughs. Yahoo! Finance

Dubai Developers Offering Payment Deferments for Off-Plan Buyers

While they’re not being widely publicized, off-plan property buyers are being offered deferments on their upcoming payment installments, as more developers in Dubai realize they need to offer some give-and-take. As part of individual negotiations (usually done over Zoom) developers are being more lenient. It’s all part of an effort to ensure that buyers don’t walk away after putting down a deposit and one or two installments amid the Covid-19-related downturn in the U.A.E. city. Gulf News
