LSUA COVID-19 Response Plan

Campus Updates & Resources

The welfare of students, faculty, staff, and guests is the University’s foremost concern. Accordingly, we are adopting a number of practices to minimize risks. That said, safeguarding the campus community is a mutual obligation. The University will take appropriate steps, but members of the community must also be accountable and responsible for their health and the health of the wider community.

Message from the Chancellor

As we approach the fall semester, we wanted to provide an update to the COVID-19 protocol and policy on campus. The health of our students and employees remains a top priority, and we will continue monitoring COVID-19 and its effects on our community.

Although the COVID-19 vaccine will not be required this fall, we strongly encourage everyone to be fully vaccinated when they return to campus to stay healthy and not have your semester interrupted by illness. Free COVID-19 vaccines, boosters, and tests are available at the Student Health Center.

We ask you to continue using good judgment, and to be courteous to those around you who may be more at-risk than you are. Consider wearing masks in crowded situations while indoors, making smart decisions, and displaying mature behaviors related to your health and the health of others. If you are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms, you should get tested or speak to a medical professional for additional guidance before coming to campus.

If you do test positive or have been exposed to COVID-19, LSUA will continue to follow the CDC isolation and quarantine guidelines, posted in our COVID-19 Response Plan.

Thanks to all of you for the way you came together during the pandemic to protect our campus. We will continue to follow the guidance of public health experts and we are optimistic about the fall semester. I hope you have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you on campus this fall.

All the best,

Dr. Paul Coreil
LSUA Chancellor
