A team from Massachusetts-based technology incubator and product developer Triton Systems, Inc., became the first commercial company to utilize our new #BlueTech Lab for testing. Using the lab’s state-of-the-art underwater camera system, the group analyzed the behavior of a small vehicle they’re developing for a Department of Defense client. Triton’s Angelica Cardona jumped at the opportunity to experiment in a large, controlled indoor facility with ample workspace. “Being here saves us so much time and money. Without this resource, we’d be dealing the logistical burden of getting out to sea and testing in mucky waters.” Reserve lab space here: http://spklr.io/6047Wlsd

INNO8, the visual RTK is coming. In addition to achieving AR stakeout as Insight V2, its second camera enables it to conduct visual positioning, allowing INNO8 to survey in more areas than traditional RTK, including the areas without GNSS signals (blocked by the roof, under the highways, corridors with cover), the areas that are difficult to approach or have strong multi-path effects (no entry facilities, forests, construction sites with many obstacles), and avoid risk in dangerous areas (busy road, waters, mountains). Explore the possibilities of INNO8 in this video: #SOUTH #GNSS #RTK #AR #camera #visual #signal

Nearly one and a half years later, Joel S. Wright (FOL-DA-TANK), Daniel Fitzgerald and I have taken what seemed to have been an impossible objective, and navigated a way to distill it down to an XPRIZE #QualifyingTechnicalSubmission. We're stoked to have met this milestone and our fingers crossed that we'll qualify and move on to the next round! XPRIZE presented the challenge to autonomously detect and suppress a 2m2 wildland fire, within a 1000km2 area within 10 minutes (or less :-)). They've also offered 4 years to develop the solution. When I first read these parameters, I laughed out loud 🤣! I've come to learn, however, that when you start to combine the right people, the right challenges and the right attitude there are potential solutions to problems that many of us have would never have considered if not being presented with the challenge in the first place. I'm inspired by the challenge that XPRIZE has presented and while we may only be trying to pass the test to enter the race, we're excited to be apart of the journey! If you have a hot minute, please follow us at Fibonacci Fire Project and check out our website https://lnkd.in/gR2VBGAj. Cheers to "one more day and a wakeup" before the weekend! #autonomousrobotics #wildlandfire #suppressionsolutions #collaboration #dronetech #AI #softwareengineering #mathematics #STEM
We submitted our XPRIZE Wildfire concept yesterday and are excited to advance to the next round of competition. Learn how our vision will advance autonomous wildfire response technology on our team's website. https://lnkd.in/gKdKJBsm

A great example of how technology and domain knowledge of how to apply that technology can deliver a real meaningful outcome for our customers. Our customers work in harsh environments and gathering detailed data once saves time and money. #technology #data #undersea #Cathxocean
Range Gating versus Cathx Ocean Systems The WHY in every business is important! A recent customer enquiry reminded us how important it is to speak to us about what issue you are trying to solve. What you think you need and what's best to solve your issue is best resolved together via discussion. A perfect example illustrates this point below! How is the strobe in your camera-strobe (no laser) system utilized? Is the delay and length of flash modifiable? If so, does it employ any range-gating to dial in imagery at specified distances? The delay and duration of the flash are controlled through an API (AUV) or through a Mission control interface ( ROV) . It does not use any range gating. The pulse widths are typically one to five milliseconds . Range gating would require resolution on the scale of nanoseconds ( one nanosecond per foot is speed of light) so our understanding on range gating is that we need to sample distance within this window to build a picture where we reduce backscatter by range gating it at this nanosecond level. This is not how our systems work, however. The main issue with range gating for what we do is that it requires sampling and would not be fast enough for a 4 knot AUV. We considered range gating before we went to our synchronised imaging system, but in testing found ways to outperform range dating as a means to reduce backscatter. The best way to illustrate this is have a look at our video clip below. On the left is our Cathx Ocean Imaging sensor vs on the right hand side a standard camera. #rangegating #cathxocean #imagingsensor #subseasurveys #remoteoperatedvehicles #autonomousvehicles #underwatercamerasystems #sensors https://lnkd.in/epXD8RY3

Emesent partner Tomas Honc from GEOTRONICS Praha, s. r. o. in Czech Republic has selected Emesent Hovermap for his customers. He explained why at INTERGEO: “I have tested several solutions and finally found out that the most reliable data was captured by Hovermap. I have carefully tested and selected Hovermap for my customers. Using standard scanners was taking a long time to measure the volume of stockpiles. Hovermap is easy to use and my customers can do more in less time. My customers in AEC use Hovermap for scanning historical buildings and mapping sites prior to renovations, and for 3D models. On top of the ease of use of Hovermap, customers get very accurate data to work with.” Find out more here: https://hubs.li/Q0254tGP0 Come see us at Booth I27.42, INTERGEO (10-12 October, Messe, Berlin).
