The $5 million, 10-bed, Level 2 NICU, deepens the hospital’s ability to provide intensive care for sick and premature infants born at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. Approximately, 1-in-5 babies are born prematurely each year in the United States, and this new advancement in services at HCA Florida Capital Hospital will support premature infants in the region. With the addition of the NICU, HCA Florida Capital Hospital will be able to maintain continuity-of-care for patients. Our NICU is staffed by highly-trained, compassionate caregivers: • Board-certified neonatologists and pediatricians • Highly-trained registered nurses with 110 years of total experience • Case managers • Lactation consultants • Physical therapists • Respiratory therapists • Speech therapists • Specialty consultants Our NICU features: • Certified neonatologists and pediatricians • Respiratory therapist on site 24/7 • Dedicated case manager • Support staff in physical and occupational therapy • Speech therapists with specialized training in infant feeding • Continuous cardiorespiratory monitoring • Neonatal ventilators for respiratory support • Comprehensive radiology services • Highly-secured area with state-of-the-art infant security • Video monitoring for each patient isolette with 24/7 viewing capability by parents • Nutritional support • Dedicated lactation space • Pacifier activated lullaby system • Parent baby classes • Follow-up care • Bereavement support committee with grief counseling #HealthierTomorrows
