Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)’s Post

Are you in your last year of law school or recently graduated from law school? We’re looking for Law Clerks and Attorney-Advisers to join the next class of our Legal Division Honors Attorney Program. Honors Attorneys work alongside managers and Senior Attorneys to assist with preparing legal opinions, providing legal research analysis, and preparing legal documents that support the FDIC’s mission. Honors Attorneys are exposed to valuable and stimulating areas of law atypical to most government practice. Many of FDIC’s lawyers began their career with the agency by participating in the Honors Attorney Program. Meet Nefretete Smith. She is one of those attorneys. In 2008, Nef interned with the FDIC for two summers during law school and then joined the FDIC as a member of the 2010 Honors Attorney Program class after graduating from the American University Washington College of Law. After completing the Honors Attorney Program, Nef transitioned into the Assessments Unit in 2012 as an Attorney. Nef currently serves as Supervisory Counsel for the Policy Unit in the Legal Division. In this role, she leads a team responsible for the development and analysis of FDIC policy and the interpretation and application of the laws and regulations governing consumer protection and the activities, operations and structure of insured depository institutions. Apply for the Honors Attorney Program by September 18! Law Clerk ➡ https://lnkd.in/eX2RsUfv Attorney-Adviser ➡ https://lnkd.in/ewinn8_t
