Supporters and opponents of a proposed natural gas pipeline into Northampton County remain deeply divided over the project, first proposed six and a half years ago.

That divide, fueled at times on both sides by the coronavirus pandemic, was clear during a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection public hearing Wednesday night. It focused on the first of two phases for the PennEast Pipeline proposal.
