Join fellow school resource officers for an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders, information about the de-escalation cycle and the most effective strategies for intervention.

This virtual 2.5 hour session will include opportunities for interaction and discussion.

Learning Objectives

  • understand the triad of characteristics in Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • understand how these characteristics may impact students in school settings
  • explore the de-escalation cycle 
  • identify effective strategies used for de-escalation interventions in a school setting
  • reflect on how new learning will impact student outcomes
