Bio
Isabel Galupo is a queer, part-Filipina, Jewish woman with three moms and a dad (yeah, you read that right). After being an only child for 10 years, Isabel found herself an overnight oldest kid with four younger sisters; this made her really good at changing diapers, but also at observing, adapting, and - at times - escaping into genre fiction. It only makes sense, then, that she grew up to be a writer, constantly drawing on her unusual family dynamic and intersecting identities to tell stories at the knife's edge of painful insight and bizarre heart.
Isabel graduated from Ithaca College as a Park Scholar with a B.S. in screenwriting and a minor in sociology, and participated in the Lambda Literary Writer’s Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices in 2015. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband.
Television
Isabel is an Emmy-nominated television writer who was most recently staffed on TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK for Nickelodeon Animation and Hasbro. Previously, she was Staffed on WB Animation's LITTLE ELLEN, produced for HBO Max.
Isabel has freelanced for Netflix's PRINCESS POWER, RIDLEY JONES and WE LOST OUR HUMAN, Mattel's BARBIE: IT TAKES TWO, Amazon's CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, Nickelodeon's THE CASAGRANDES, as well as for a handful of forthcoming shows for PBS and Apple TV+. BRIDESMAID FOR HIRE - original pilot
A queer take on a wedding set romance, BRIDESMAID FOR HIRE is a half-hour rom-com pilot about a workaholic professional bridesmaid who just can't seem to get her shit together, and her cute new client who's complicating everything.
BIDING TIME - original pilot
A young adult, supernatural, hour-long drama about two teenage girls who can't stop falling in love with one another - and breaking each other's hearts - over the course of multiple past lives together. Their eternal bond is tested when they reunite in present day and get embroiled in a strange, karmic mystery.
