Record-breaking funds raised in support of Room to Read`

Achievement unlocked! On Thursday, 15 June 2023 IMC Trading hosted its annual Trading & Gaming Day for Charity, where we pledged to donate an entire day’s revenues to charitable causes.

So how did we do?

We brought our A-game

Over an incredible 24 hours, colleagues across Sydney, Amsterdam, Mumbai, and Chicago together raised a record-breaking $6,000,000 for Room to Read, a non-profit organization on a mission to end illiteracy across the globe.

For the third year running Team Liquid joined our cause. The renowned esports organization called in its top players from around the world for an epic livestream to raise even more donations and awareness for the charity.

Making a positive impact on the world

IMC Trading has been a proud contributor to Room to Read since 2015. Why? Because World Change Starts with Educated Children®. Education is the most effective tool for solving the world’s greatest challenges, like climate change and inequality.

To date, our donations have helped transform the lives of more than 2.3 million children. We’ve reached 650+ schools in Tanzania and South Africa, provided 23,700 teachers and librarians with essential training, and distributed 1.8+ million books, instilling a love of reading and lifelong learning in young people. 

This year’s donation means Room to Read can reach more than 120,000 children across sub-Saharan Africa and India through engaging books published in local languages, trained teachers, and safe learning spaces.

The impact in Tanzania and South Africa

We support Room to Read’s work to train teachers, publish books in local languages, and build libraries that offer more children the life-changing effects of a strong education. Our cumulative impact from 2016 in Tanzania and South Africa;
