This read was so contradicting for me!
It was exceptionally written, with depth, the characters and the storyline were amazingly developed, not a light read at all. It was full of love, strength, struggles, faith and support. The research the author went through as to write this story was highly perceivable and well regarded.
I loved it but there was a part that didn’t excite me. Mental issues is a topic I avoid to read and if I had known they were incorporated in this story I wouldn’t have read it.
However, I don’t regret reading it but I was emotionally strained.
The epilogue wrecked me completely... ❤️💔❤️

I'm embarrassed to say that this is my first Gabrielle G. book. But it most definitely will not be my last. Wow! What an amazing story. Anna and Dan were insta-chemistry! The kind that had me fanning myself several times during the book.
Anna hasn't had it easy. In fact, on her birthday she runs into her Scumbag ex-husband who she caught cheating on the day she lost their baby. Pretty awful stuff. But Dan Darling, swoony lead singer of the Darling Devils swoops in to save the day. What happens after that? A whirlwind of sex, love, romance, trust issues and mental health. It's complex and beautiful and heartbreaking and amazing!
What grabbed me about this story, other than Gabrielle G.'s writing, was how real the characters felt. I was very sad when this story ended, but now I cannot wait for the next books in this series!
This is a MUST READ, one-click book for sure!

Darling is one of those books you read that leaves an imprint on your heart. The emotion and sensitivity of real life issues were extremely well written, pulling me along on a journey of real life ups and downs. The power of Dan and Anna journey captured me to the very end. I loved reading their beautiful story, where reality is hard and happily ever afters are achieved through devotion and perseverance. Gabrielle has a certain flow of writing that keeps me both entertained and enthralled. A must read.

Wow! I have the biggest book hangover after reading this amazing book. I'm still reeling and emotional from that epilogue. Dan and Anna are great characters but Dan has a special place in my heart. This was a new to me author but she definitely has a new fan. Do yourself a favor and read this book!

Gabrielle G. has outdone herself again and penned another incredibly mesmerizing novel!!! Anna and Dan’s story is more than a rockstar romance. It touches on a sensitive topic, which the author delivered in a well researched manner.
I read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down! I was hooked after the first chapter...can you say ‘Best Exit Ever’!!! Anna and Dan had a sort of instant chemistry...instalove...that was intense like a rollercoaster.
Their relationship makes you feel a wide range of extreme emotions. I felt it all and loved every single moment!
Darling by Gabrielle G. is truly a profound and EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!!

I think it’s absolutely no secret for everyone, that I love Gabriela's books.
So far, I have mentioned, seen, read, felt and loved every one of her books.
She doesn't stop to surprise me, which is insane!!! Eveyone of here books is a total SUPRISE in my eyes, but this book is kind of the biggest surprise ever 😁😁😁
Darling is in my opinion her best book so far ❤❤❤.
It's completely different, nothing like the other books before!!!
And it's not like the usual rockstar books you know either. No! It's not even close to being like other books.
While reading this book, I went through all sorts of emotions.
At first I was sad for Anna and wanted revenge, then almost fainted after meeting Dan (swoon) 🤩 and fell in love with both characters. Then of course continued with heartbreaks, tears and anger ... I was just heartbroken afterwards, but for a different reason than before. This unbelievable emotional and gripping story, with so much emotions that they took my breath away, about a life with a mental illness and the consequences that are following that disease, is the reason for my emotional breakdown and why I loved this book so much.
Don't make sense? Yes, it does with this crazy, amazing and beautiful story.
This book was written unbelievable honest and without pardon. It's rough and unforgettable, but also romantic and sweet at the same time. It's amazing how Gabrielle can write about such a sensitive subject so incredibly authentic.
I can’t even describe what this book did with my emotions. It wrecked me and doesn't want to let me go. I love this book so much that I can cry again just from thinking about it 😭
I can't give you more of the story without spoilers and that would ruin the whole unbelievable experience, that this book is.
This book is a stand alone and ends with a HEA, but damn Gabrielle....the ending makes me want to cry again ❤😭

This story was just… everything. It’s emotional and so beautifully written. I felt the words, felt the pain and every other emotion that was described in this book. Not my first book by Gabrielle G. but this one was just…. Special. Dan Darling is the kind of man that you cannot help but fall in love with. But he goes through so much and it’s heartbreaking. I cried at moments, and laughed at Anna’s sarcasm. The characters are amazing and their chemistry is out of this world. Heartbreaking and emotional but worth every single penny a person would spend on it. This story is by far one of my favourite reads of 2019. I thanked Gabrielle. G and I’m thanking her again for this beautifully written story. My heart still aches and suffers from a book hangover. But I will be okay… I will.
That being said, I cannot wait for the upcoming books of this series.

I liked it until the epilogue said the girl dies of cancer at the age of 75 and then wanted the guy to find love again.
Like geez girl, a year or later he'd join you too and leave another girl heartbroken- WE DON'T WANT THAT. Thank God, he didn't because "instalove" happens only once.
Right.
Also the girl knew that he literally betrayed her with promise of a future and fucked another girl right after breaking up with her and YET she answered his text without calling him a bastard ? and happily talked and text him and went to help him> FINE helping is good but seriously? Ugh I need girls with stronger spine, thank you.

Realism at it's core!
Anna meets Dan the one person she wants to shy away from. She’s not your typical women and will not fall to the ground for a Rockstar. If he wants her he needs to work for it and she stands her ground.
Dan has met his match! He’s so intrigued with Anna he can’t stop thinking about her. He thinks she may be the one!
Not your typical love story but it’s an incredible one. It reaches deep into the surprised mental illness that Dan has and how day to day life can be a struggle and how love can sometimes give you the courage to find strength within yourself to stay focus and beat the odds.
Gabrielle will not disappoint you! This book is different, it's real, it's heartbreaking and it's absolutely a must read!

This book!!!!! This is an easy recommendation one click!
Anna has had it rough over the past few years. Finding her ex husband cheating on her during her most stressful, vulnerable time in her life. She is focused on her job. Anna and Dan Darling meet when he helped her out of a situation with her Scumbag Ex. He swoops in, being all hot, swoony and saved her. Thats where it started this "relationship". There is so much depth to this story and Gabrielle dives right in and helps you understand the complexity of them. Its not just a rock star romance. This story had it all. Fun banter, blazing hot chemisty, emotional, instant attraction romance. This story is very well thought out, very well written, Dan is very complex but once you understood him, all of those complicated mosaic pieces fell into place. Mental health is a big topic in their story. Trust, love and understanding is a big key to getting this fated connection to work in the long run. I loved Anna and Dan's story so much. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I recommend it whole heartedly!!!!

DNF (30%). I tried so hard, but I couldn’t.. It wasn’t entertaining at all.
I did like the concept of the story and even some characters, but it was all too rushed at the beginning. Dan and Anna had only one, brief conversation and he immediately went to dedicate a song to her and started calling her love.. I’m not saying that a love at first sight doesn’t exist, but the thing is.. I didn’t even feel the connection between them? There wasn’t the passion that made me love them, there wasn’t the spark. I know it has been said multiple times that what was between them was instalove, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe it was Anna, because she was just... too boring, sorry.
Trust me I don’t mind love at first sight stories, but I need the spark and I was really missing it here. I probably missed the main plot of the story and some tough drama with Dan leaving on tour, but yeah I just couldn’t finish.

Darling is a story about two people finding love amidst the cards life deals us. It’s about the fear of love after betrayal and a story that will leave its imprint all over you. It’s clear this author spent a lot of time researching the main topic in this book and I applaud her for the way she handled it.
This is a must read for me and I highly recommend it. I laughed at some parts, cried at others, but in the end it made an impact on how I thought about mental health issues and awareness.

I love anything that Gabrielle G. writes... this one is no different! This story was amazing with a twist you don't see coming. The writing is amazing, the characters are well-developed, and the plot is OMG so good! I loved this one, and I'm looking forward to so many more works from this very talented author.

Darling was the first book I read by Gabrielle G. Two things right off the bat---these people are not in their twenties and, as such, they have experiences and "stuff" that happens as we grow older, and the book grabbed me and did not let go until I turned the last page.
Dan Darling is so cool, and the way he meets Anna is breathtaking. Talk about a rescue! No spoilers--read the book! But Dan has things going on in Dan that are not easily fixable or glossed over. Here is why I have fallen for Gabrielle G as an author; she takes a subject that is often still considered taboo and handles it in a healthy, loving way. Not only does she weave this topic into the story in a way that does not overtake the story, much less the romance, but it impacts the story, and the tale adjusts to it. Dan still manages to be the Hero in a big way and makes you love him more.
Anna needs a prince charming. Let's be real; her husband and life dealt her a crap hand. When she meets Dan, it is total serendipity. And Karma comes through so magically for her that it leaves you swoony and content. Again, Gabrielle manages to handle an adult situation that many confront with grace and not your usual romance solution but an adult resolution. Bravo.
This book hit all the checkboxes for me as I was reading so much, so I read it in one sitting. There is a bit of angst, ADULT FREAKING ANGST. These people are dealing with significant life complications. It works out, and here we go--the epilogue of this book was the most beautiful--I was stunned. We always get the happily ever after with our couple riding off into the sunset. I struggled to find a word that embraces the completeness of this epilogue, and the closest I could find is enouement. I am not sure it's really a word per se here is the definition I found: "the bittersweetness of having arrived in the future, seeing how things turn out." Darling is probably one of the very best rock star romances I have ever read. READ IT NOW!

Darling is an emotionally charged, beautifully written rock star romance that is sure to make you laugh, swoon, and even cry. It takes a very talented author to craft such an engaging story that elicits that many emotions. This book was not what I was expecting and I mean that in a good way. I am not usually one for the insta-love trope, but the way this author portrayed Dan’s and Anna’s feelings towards each other and the progression of their relationship worked very well for the story.
Anna is a woman who has been royally burned in the past and she carefully guards her heart. I didn’t warm up to her right away, but as the story further developed, I came to recognize her as a strong, resilient, and independent woman who is the perfect match for Dan. It was Dan, however, who spoke to my soul. I don’t think I have ever identified so closely with a character before and I am impressed with how the author addressed certain aspects of his life, thoughts, feelings, and interactions with those closest to him. I cannot neglect mentioning the secondary characters in this book. I absolutely loved the dynamic between the band members and I cannot wait for them to get their own books.
This author did a phenomenal job in creating a story that pulls the reader in. She combines that right amount of fame with the ordinary and tackles a certain subject matter with great sensitivity and respect. She has given a voice for those of us who experience something similar to Dan, but also illustrates how it affects those around him. It was my first book by this author and in case you can’t tell by my review, it will not be my last.

This rock star romance mixed with emotion, Twists and turns, and everything in between will become one of your top reads of 2019!! The author absolutely blew me away and I never expected what came of this story!! This unsual romance will absolutely enthrall every part of your being and make you fall in love with Dan and Anna from the very beginning.
What an epic, rockstar romance that will stay with me a long time. This author continues to get better and better with each book. This book was WOW AMAZING!! I loved the characters. They were very raw and real. Their issues were things we don’t normally read about in romance books and that created such a different, amazing feeling!! What can I say about this book? How about it is freaking amazing and everyone needs to read it! I'm not even sure how Gabrielle G. manages to keep upping her game with every book she writes, but she does and we all get the reward!
Darling is an emotional roller coaster that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what she's going to put you through next. One minute I would be smiling and the next I would have to remind myself not to throw my kindle so I won't break it.
Gabrielle G. is an author that will leave you feeling this book long after you read it, and Darling is no exception. The plot, the characters, the writing, everything was just amazing! Gabrielle G. is not afraid to write about topics that some might be, and she does it with such respect and talent. So many times if a problem or issue is not something we face we look right past it, or don't truly understand the effect it has on others. Gabrielle G. takes that topic and makes you feel what it is.
Dan and Anna will forever be in my heart. Sometimes we read books that just hit us in different ways and this was definitely one of those books that hit me right in my heart.

Books are written with the intention to not only captive the reader but also leave a lasting impression long after the book is finish. Darling by Gabrielle G. is one of those books.
The journey of Anna and Dan, has the stuff you think of when you picture rockstars, women, sex, late nights, traveling etc, however this is not your typical rockstar read. Anna and Dan are two complicated souls, who each has something from their past that hinders them from being complete and open with each other.
I enjoyed the flow of the story, the characters and the details provided about mental health was very informative. Author Gabrielle G. wrote an excellent novel, where she captured the real emotions of both someone struggling with a mental issue but also how it affects those around them and yet still made it romantic. She didn't sugar coat what life is , it was raw and yet heart warming.
One of the funniest scenes in this book, has to be the scene where Dan addresses Anna's ex husband and his new wife by the nicknames Anna has for the couple, "scumbag and the wife" it was so unexpected of him and I really sat there laughing for a few moments.

First time author for me and not my last.
I loved these characters. I felt Dan was truly a rock star by the author portrayal of Dan, Art, and Lars sleeping/sex of groupies. What started me as odd was how Dan met Anna. He overhead Anna and her ex-husband with a strained conversation and he inserted himself. She let it play out to rid herself of ex but Dan was now a big Anna "fan". That seemed to make the book cheesy (insta-love) but Anna had to be convinced to allow Dan into her life. It really isn't a case of insta-love nor is book "cheesy".
A nearly 40 year old rockstar and 38 year old Anna.. interesting. She's an architect doing well in Montreal. How is relationship going to work?
There is much more than rockstar lifestyle to the book. The challenge with Dan is much more than than his lifestyle. Author handles his condition well. Anna has her own misfortunes that readers can relate to as well. I like how author has therapy, medication, meditation, and diet, and exercise part of maintenance.
I loved the end with Dan's POV.
The only bit I wondered about is why stupid ex-husband reappears at her brother's bar at end?? What purpose, other than word count???

Instalove with a unique twist. Gabrielle G. delivers quite a touching story with Anna and Dan. She had me hooked with two things I’m always a fan of, sweet Rockstars and Mental Health Awareness. This book is a roller coaster of emotion and clearly written by someone who took their time to really research and educate themselves so they could not only bring their characters to life but also give a voice to those who are like Dan.
Both Anna and Dan’s characters hit home for me. As someone with my own mental health struggles seeing a hero that was so real with his and still every bit the amazing, swoony man was magnificent. As someone with loved ones who do struggle much like Dan, Anna was a breathe of fresh air.

You guys are definitely gonna need your tissues for this one. I just finished this beauty of a book and guys you will definitely need that box of tissues handy. Gabrielle G has written these characters amazingly and has done an amazing job portraying them and their individual traits. You will laugh, you will cry, you might also want to slap one or all of the characters upside the head but I fell in love with Anna and Dan from their first meet and I’m sure you guys will too. This book delves into everyday issues and deals with them beautifully, because rockstars deal with everyday ‘normal’ people stuff too 😍😍💚💚💚

Phew this book was immense and utterly amazing! It had me hooked from the very first page and it didnt disappoint, the way Gabrielle really went in depth with Dan's secret touched me to the very soul. The fact she has written characters that people can and will relate to is brilliant, whether it be Anna or Dan you will love both of them equally! Gabrielle is a brilliant author and if you haven't read her books already i suggest you do! 😊

Gabs takes you on a ride of your life with this book which I personally think is Gabs at her finest! I loved Dan... He wasn't your typical rocker. He wasn't cocky but he was confident and he knew what he wanted or who he wanted to do. But for me, I navigated this story through Anna's eyes. And God did it break my heart and I loved every moment of it.

Wow what a amazing read by this author. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and will not be my last. This is a beautiful read that will take you on a emotional ride and grab your heart and will have you loving this beautiful story. Anna and Dan Story is beautiful written and you feel like you are right their throughout their journey.

Very Good Book!
This book was a breath of fresh air! The H is a great guy, loving and fun, who happens to be a Rock Star, who suffers from a mental illness. The author do a fantastic job in shedding light on this illness, while still keeping a great story going. I will be reading more of her books and I highly recommend everyone else to give her a try!

Wonderful and sad, this is an unexpectedly complex story that I couldn’t put down. I’ve never read a romance that also dealt with mental health, and felt so profoundly invested in the characters and their struggles. Gabrielle’s writing is captivating, heartbreaking and at times straight-up hilarious.
