Miami-Dade NAF Academies have witnessed remarkable growth in the last few school years, thanks to the robust collaboration between education and industry partners. Over 97 Miami NAF Academy Board members and numerous volunteers have facilitated work-based learning activities such as job shadowing, mentoring, internships, and industry classroom speakers.
We help support work-based learning activities impacting over 22,450 students in 78 NAF career academies in 32 M-DCPS high schools.
Academy students are studying Miami-Dade Career and Technical Education (CTE) in career pathways aligning with Miami-Dade County's targeted industries, spanning Agriculture, Engineering, Finance, Hospitality/Tourism, IT, Health Science, Education/Teaching, Trade Logistics, Cybersecurity, and more new programs opening in AI and other up and coming technology.

- 100% of the 2022 seniors graduated
- 78 NAF career academies in 32 M-DCPS high schools reaching more students and new areas of Miami Dade County, increasing equity of opportunity
- 90% of the grads are college bound, many recipients of Miami NAF Academies scholarships
- 73% of students eligible for free/reduced price lunches, 29% English language learners
- 51% male, 49% female, <1% gender nonconforming or unknown
- Over 2,000 NAF students completed a paid 5 week internship
- 1,800 attended M-DCPS NAF MEGA Student Industry Conference

More than just career academy classes....The NAF Academies of Miami-Dade County Public Schools empower students to be prepared for college and careers through real-world "work-based" learning activities!
With a mission to connect what students learn in the Career and Technical Ed. classroom with the real world of careers; raising funds for college and career activities to better prepare students for both; mentoring students; as well as, guiding students, parents, teachers and schools in the higher education requirements and latest industry trends!
Industry and Education Partners working together to support NAF Career Academies through the MECA non-profit foundation, they engage community and industry partners to promote student and educator career awareness and exploration, developing work-based learning activities, and sustaining academies with training and fundraising.
