Pedal the Pacific is a leadership program for college-aged women to recognize the power of their voice in the fight against sex trafficking. Every summer, a team of women cycle for 7 weeks from Seattle to San Diego to raise awareness about sex trafficking and fundraise for nonprofits that lead the fight against the cause. The 2021 team consists of 12 young women from across the nation. The team is coming through Santa Cruz and is excited to partner with the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary and Arukah Project to raise awareness about the cause with the local community.
There are multiple ways to be involved in this year's event:
- 10:00 AM: 40-mile training ride with the Sunrise Rotary for our fellow cyclists (includes lunch at Wilder Ranch). Meet at the Corralitos Women's Club
- 12:30 PM: Lunch with Pedal the Pacific and Rotary cyclists at Wilder Ranch
- 3:30-7:30 PM: Dinner and drinks provided by Los Pericos and Discretion Brewing at the Corralitos Women's Club
During dinner, the Pedal the Pacific team will share stories of their travels, what they've learned about sex trafficking, and more about their beneficiaries, and local organization Arukah Project will speak about trafficking in Santa Cruz County
Thank you for supporting this year's ride. We are excited to come together with our first-ever event in Santa Cruz. Special thank you to the Sunrise Rotary for putting this event together.
