About this event

Snow Retreat 2022 !

We are excited to invite you to join us for a weekend of outdoor fun and indoor relaxation, structured around times of worship and the preaching of God’s Word. Every year students find this to be a time of renewal and growth in the Lord.

As in past years, we will be enjoying the hospitality of Tall Timber Ranch, just outside of Leavenworth, WA. (Please scroll down for more information).

Activities

Outdoors, students will have full access to snow tubing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and a snow skate park. Indoors, there will be lots of space for students to relax, stay warm by the fire and spend time together. All of these activities are included for free in our reservation.

Who Is Invited?

We have invited several churches from inside and outside our presbytery to join us this year. Snow Retreat has always been a great place for students from various churches in the Pacific NW Presbytery to meet and rekindle friendships.

What Ages?

The Snow Retreat is intended for high school students, however 8th graders who will be 14 years old by January 28th may speak to their youth leader to see if they may be eligible to attend as well.

Price:

Members & Regular Attenders of FPC:

The price of the retreat, which is to be paid to Faith Presbyterian Church, is $135 per person. (This is actually a discounted price, as FPC has set aside money in its budget that is being used to help reduce the price for our students. Limited funds prevent us from extending this discount beyond members and regular attenders of FPC.)

Additionally, each student will need to bring money for two fast food meals (one on the way up, and one on the way back).

Scholarships are available based on need. Please contact Pastor Gutiérrez for more information.

Non-FPC, CHS Students:

The price of the retreat for CHS students who are not members or regular attenders of FPC is $160, paid to Faith Presbyterian Church. Each student will also need to bring money for two fast food meals (one on the way up & one on the way back).

We are open to having non-FPC students from CHS join us, but they need to note two things:

1. All non-FPC students will need to talk to Pastor Gutiérrez about coming, and he will need to give his approval before they can join us.

2. The cost for students who are not members or regular attenders of FPC is a bit higher. This is not because we are raising the cost for non-FPC students, but because FPC has set aside money to help reduce the cost for FPC youth, and that money is limited.

Food:

Tall Timber Ranch takes care of all of our dining needs with three meals on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. Each church will be on their own for providing dinner on Friday, as well as any necessary meals while traveling to or from the retreat.

Sleeping Arrangements:

We will be staying in the cabins at Tall Timber Ranch. Most of the cabins are finished with full bathrooms, and are heated with woodstoves (they also have backup electric heat.) Some of the more rustic cabins lack bathrooms. Cabins without bathrooms will be the last ones we fill (and if they are used, they traditionally go to our boys).

Documents for Students & Chaperones:

In order to join us on this trip, everyone (students, leaders and chaperones) must fill out these two forms that will be emailed to you when you complete this registration and can be found in the original email sent out. Please print and return those two forms to your youth leader with payment. For students, the form must be signed by a parent or guardian (not a youth leader).

Chaperones/Background Checks:

All Faith Presbyterian Church chaperones and leaders go through background checks and Ministry Safe Awareness training/certification and interviews.

Since others churches bring their own youth to the Snow Retreat, they ordinarily attend with a male and/or female chaperone (if boys and girls are attending). All chaperones are required to complete a background check and go through proper vetting. We will be working with church leaders to ensure that all chaperones have completed the process in order to attend.

Deadlines:

Registration forms must be submitted by 9:00 PM on January 9th.

No registrations may be submitted or cancelled after this time. A church may substitute one student for another of the same gender at any time, and of a different gender pending approval.

The Faith Presbyterian Church and Tall Timber release form is also due to your youth/trip leader at this time.

HURRY! Register now!

Though we have given you a Jan. 9th as a firm deadline, this year, there is very high interest, and limited space, so fill out your registration as soon as possible to secure a spot!
