The University of Colorado Boulder Police have alerted the community they are investigating job scams impacting students and recent graduates.

CUPD tweeted that applicants are asking to be sent money to secure employment. These job postings are illegitimate and should be disregarded.

The tweet emphasized individuals should never pay to apply for a job or secure employment. They recommend checking the job poster’s profile on professional platforms like Handshake, LinkedIn and/or the university’s website before applying via email or through a job portal.

CUPD has asked those who have been impacted to let them know by contacting 303-492-6666 (reference cases 2023-8184 and 2023-1039).
