COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A community bank in the Columbus area has tapped Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted to be a paid member of its corporate board, according to a company announcement.

Heartland BancCorp, which does business as Heartland Bank, appointed Husted to the company’s board of directors in March 2022. The company didn’t announce the move until last week, when, after its annual meeting, it issued a press release. Gov. Mike DeWine’s administration hadn’t said anything about it until cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer inquired on Monday.
