COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Gov. Mike DeWine ducked a question on Tuesday about whether Ohio has been chosen as the site of a major new computer-chip factory planned for the Columbus area.

But, in an interview with reporters and editors for The Plain Dealer and cleveland.com, DeWine said he’d love for Ohio to get one, and called for Congress to pass a bill that would direct $52 billion for domestic semiconductor production which has cleared the Senate with bipartisan support but stalled before the Democratic-controlled House.
