EASTLAKE, Ohio – The Jarvis Landry Celebrity Softball Game is set to return to Classic Park on Saturday, June 12.

The game debuted in 2019 but was postponed last year because of Covid concerns.

The roster has not been set for this year’s game, but several of Landry’s Browns teammates participated in the first game: Myles Garrett, David Njoku, Kareem Hunt and Denzel Ward and former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar. Other notable athletes who played: UFC champ Stipe Miocic, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – who went to Cleveland Heights High School - and former Ohio State wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who went to Glenville High School. Former Browns cornerback Joe Haden served as team captain.

Classic Park gates are set to open at 2 p.m. A home-run derby and awards ceremony also will be held. The Captains will be at Fort Wayne in a six-game road trip the week of the softball game.

The game also will include a philanthropic component.

It will raise money for Jarvis Landry Building Winners Foundation, which Landry founded in 2020. The non-profit organization aims to affect the lives of children and families facing socioeconomic disparities and/or chronic health conditions. It promotes programs, special events and charitable initiatives throughout the year in the Cleveland, Miami and New Orleans areas. Landry went to Louisiana State University, played four years for the Miami Dolphins, and has spent the last three with Cleveland.

Proceeds also will benefit the Lake Health Foundation, the philanthropic affiliate of Lake Health, a not-for-profit corporation.

Lake County Captains season-ticket holders have early access to buy tickets beginning today – Friday, April 9. Tickets for the public go on sale 10 a.m. Monday, April 12. Go to CaptainsBaseball.com or JarvisLandrySoftball.com. Seats will be sold by section; prices start at $37. Fans must buy tickets in pods of two, three, four or six seats. Exact locations will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Classic Park Gold Lot parking passes will be $15.

Health and safety protocols – evolving along with ever-changing state and local guidelines - will be announced in the near future.
