Warner Robins, Ga. – The 2017-2018 Academic Year marks the fifth consecutive year that Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) surpassed 3,000 total graduates, according to state data, becoming the only technical college in Georgia to achieve this benchmark from academic years’ 2014-2018. The College also set a record by conferring 660 associate degrees in AY 2018, the highest number since consolidating with the former Middle Georgia Technical College in 2013.
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) recently released the Graduates and Placement Academic Year 2018 results gathered by its Data, Planning, and Research Center. The report is a system-wide glance at graduates, year-to-year comparisons, and placement rates for 22 institutions. CGTC led the state in the total number of unduplicated graduates, awards conferred, diplomas and Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC) awarded.
CGTC accounted for just over ten percent of the System’s total number of graduates, 3,690 of the 33,904. The College’s 6,084 total awards conferred is close to 11 percent of the TCSG total. CGTC awarded 721 diplomas and 4,703 workforce TCC’s designed to promote quick entry into a career by gaining specific and in-demand skills.
Placement rates show 99.4 percent of the College’s graduates found employment, demonstrating CGTC’s commitment to connecting students to a career and its mission of workforce development.

Many of our programs, such as Registered Nursing, Industrial Systems, and Aerospace, are in direct response to local workforce needs,” said Dr. Ivan Allen, president of CGTC. “The expertise and commitment of our faculty continually allows us to meet our Complete College Georgia graduate goals and offer in-demand skills programs to ensure that employers in our area have a qualified pool of applicants from which to choose the best employees for their organizations.”
The College’s growth in conferred associate degrees is partly a result of its first-ever cohort in the Associate of Science Nursing degree program, that in May, saw 25 students gain a credential to qualify these students to sit for the state licensure exam to become registered nurses.
CGTC’s 6,084 total awards mark the second consecutive year as TCSG’s only institution to exceed 6,000.
