Emilee Fannon, Capitol Reporter
Emilee Fannon has been a reporter covering Wisconsin politics since 2018. She joined CBS 58 in January 2021 serving as the Capitol Correspondent, a role that allows her closely track the state Legislature by working full time in the Capitol press room in Madison.
She previously served as the Capitol Bureau Chief for WKOW in Madison.
Her passion for reporting on politics began in 2014 after receiving her master's degree in political affairs reporting at the University of Illinois-Springfield. Shortly after, she was hired as a statehouse reporter at the capitol covering Illinois politics including the rise and fall of the longest budget impasse in modern day history as well as historic school funding reform.
Emilee is looking forward to continuing to build her career as a political reporter in the Milwaukee market, an area familiar to her as many of her family members are from the suburbs of Milwaukee.
Even though she was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, she is a huge Green Bay Packer fan and is happy to continue rooting for her team in Wisconsin.
You can also watch her weekly political show, Capitol Connection, on CBS 58 which airs on Saturday and Sunday mornings. She's also the co-host of Wisconsin Eye's Rewind, a 30-minute weekly show that takes a deeper dive into the biggest political stories.
