Most Admired CEOs celebrates the impactful business leaders shaping Greater Philadelphia. Here is the second group of 2023 honorees.

Admiration comes in many forms, especially when it’s for a top-level executive. Sometimes it is the individual’s leadership style and mentorship which draws praise. Other times, it is that person’s astronomic rise to the top that others laud. For some, it is the sweeping impact that individual has on a community or industry.

The Philadelphia Business Journal is proud to announce this year’s Most Admired CEOs honorees, who have earned respect from within and outside their companies and are leaving a mark on Greater Philadelphia and beyond.

An annual special publication, this year we are honoring 27 individuals, including a pair of co-CEOs, in addition to a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. To determine this year’s list, we sought nominations from the public, receiving more than 100 submissions. From the nominations, the Business Journal’s editorial board reviewed each candidate, which must hold the top executive position within their firm. This includes the title of CEO, president and executive director. Both leaders from for profit and nonprofit companies are eligible for consideration.

Honorees were announced in two groups, with the first half announced Tuesday. The Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will be announced Thursday.

The Business Journal will celebrate this year’s honorees during an evening event at the new Switch House in the Battery redevelopment project in Fishtown on Dec. 6, and in a special print edition of the paper on Dec. 8.
